The Mass Spectrometry Core Facility Director at the University of Kentucky provides strategic and scientific leadership guiding innovation, growth, and operational excellence. The role leads the development and implementation of novel analytical methodologies and emerging technologies to expand service offerings and maintain competitive positioning. The Mass Spectrometry Director represents the facility in institutional research initiatives, collaborates with advisory committees to set priorities, and manages large-scale projects that enhance core capabilities and address complex research needs. The role also focuses on partnership development and funding acquisition, cultivating relationships with researchers, industry partners, and funding agencies to secure internal and external resources. In addition, the position oversees multiple disciplines within the technique of mass spectrometry, supervises facility management staff, establishes performance and professional development benchmarks, and fosters a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the core facility.

Requirements

This position works Monday – Friday; 8:00 am-5:00 pm; and occasional nights & weekends as needed.
