The Schriemer Lab is seeking a postdoctoral fellow with proteomics and mass spectrometry at the core of their expertise to help advance our spatial proteomics platform. This is an ideal opportunity for a chemist or biochemist who loves rigorous lab work, enjoys building and refining methods, and wants to contribute to an innovative, collaborative research environment.
The successful candidate will play a central role in developing and applying advanced spatial proteomics workflows, including our expanding Syncell-based technologies and Deep Visual Proteomics, to interrogate cellular organization in context. The position will involve method development, experimental execution, MS-based proteomics, and downstream data analysis.
Key responsibilities
- Advance and optimize spatial proteomics workflows
- Design, execute, and interpret proteomics and mass spectrometry experiments
- Analyze proteomics datasets using standard and experimental bioinformatics and data analysis tools
- Contribute to experimental planning, troubleshooting, and method refinement
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on biological applications in cancer and neurobiology
Requirements
- PhD in chemistry or biochemistry
- Strong, demonstrated expertise in mass spectrometry-based proteomics
- Hands-on experience with proteomics data analysis and bioinformatics software/packages
- Strong experimental skills and a track record of rigorous, high-quality lab work
- Creativity, diligence, independence, and excellent problem-solving ability
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
